INDIVIDUAL PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM

PWO provides individual peer support to people experiencing a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD). An individual will be paired with a Peer Support Volunteer who has previously struggled with a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD) related to fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, pregnancy or the postpartum period. Your peer will have at least one year of recovery from their PMAD. The individual peer support program is 3 months in length and consists of check-ins via messaging system, video or phone calls through our secure online platform. This program does not include crisis support.

Peer Support Volunteers do not provide mental health evaluations of any kind, and our services are not meant to be a substitute for mental health therapy or medical treatment. If you are struggling with your mental health you can reach out to us for support and we also recommend you seek an assessment from a healthcare practitioner or a therapist.

Our peer support coordinator can also provide referrals to in-person/virtual peer support programs in your area. Please contact Karin for more information.

If you would like to be connected to a Peer Support Volunteer for one-to-one support please fill out this application form and our Peer Support Coordinator Karin will be in touch with you shortly.
